As he explains, Jesus’ compassion reveals the center of His mission as the Incarnate Son of God and Savior of the human family. For compassion is a co-suffering, a suffering with, revealing that the Incarnate Son’s mission entails entering into all that ails the human family, precisely to free them and make them whole once again.
