On this Second Sunday of Advent, St. Luke emphasizes the historical reality of the drama of salvation to us, and we meet the forerunner of the Messiah, St. John the Baptist. As Tony explains, in the life of St. John the Baptist we find the exemplar par excellence of preparing for an encounter with God.
